If there is space we allow experienced students to drop in.

CAN I HAVE A TRIAL CLASS?

Yes. If you have no idea if the style, time and place of the class will suit you contact Tarina and she will find you a suitable space. However to get a real sense of the benefits regular attendance is much better. A trial mat class in the Studio costs £16 which will be deducted from your first block payment if you decide to book the term.

CAN I START HALF WAY THROUGH A BLOCK?

Yes. If there is space in a suitable class you can join at anytime. You will be charged for the classes left in the block.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I GO ON HOLIDAY OR NEED TO CANCEL A CLASS?

If you need to miss a lesson give us at least 24 hours notice and we will find a swap for you during the current term. It means you should never miss a lesson. We can’t offer credit from one block of classes to another.

I WORK SHIFTS AND CAN'T COMMIT TO ONE PARTICULAR TIME

Talk to Tarina and we should be able to make a personalised block of classes for you.

DO YOU HAVE BEGINNERS CLASSES?

We rarely run specific beginners class because everyone is different. We do have gentle classes that are a bit slower and focus more on the basics of moving and breathing. These are a great place to start and many people stay in those classes because they suit their needs well. If you are unsure speak to Penny or Tarina and they will find a class suitable for you.
You can also book a private class on the mat or the apparatus to go through some of the basics first so you are confident to join a group class.

I’M VERY UNFIT AND DON’T EXERCISE AT ALL, CAN I STILL DO PILATES?

YES! Pilates works for everyone regardless of age or ability. You just have to be in the right class with the right teacher. If you’ve been injured doing it before or you tried it and it hurt you’re not in the right class. We teach people in wheelchairs, people with hip and knee replacements, with osteoporosis as well as top sportspeople. Our oldest students are in their 90s, youngest in their teens.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT ME?

We ask all our students to fill in a health questionnaire before they start. We need to know about any conditions, injuries and surgery you may have had or still have that could affect your ability to exercise. We also like to know why you want to do Pilates and what you hope to get out of it. You can download our health questionnaire here. We keep all information confidential in line with GDPR regulations. What you tell us is only shared with the teachers with whom you come into contact.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Wear something comfortable, t-shirt and stretchy trousers are ideal. We work in bare feet or socks. Please don’t wear a belt or trousers with a tight waistband, they stop you breathing properly. And beware leggings, especially cheap ones, they tend to be quite see through in the bottom area!
